About Us

Delaware Sharks FHC was founded in 2000 with the goal of providing an indoor field hockey experience, and training locally to Wilmington, Delaware for multi-sport athletes.  Delaware Sharks has evolved to year round offerings serving athletes as young as 3 through high school seniors.  The organization focuses on both development of on-field skills as well as developing life skills such as self-advocacy and honest communication.

Delaware Sharks currently carry 170 athletes in the travel program, and offer recreational programs year-round in partnership with Kirkwood Sports, BPG Sports, City of Newark, and New Castle County Parks and Recreation.  Our member base includes athletes not just from Delaware but from Maryland, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey as well.  Our athletes take part in many USAFH member events such as Junior Premier Outdoor League, Nexus, Regional/National Club Championship, National Field Hockey Festival, Disney (now the Sunshine Showcase), National Indoor Festival, and the National Indoor Tournament as applicable.  We also attend College Connection's Shooting Star Events.

Delaware Sharks are helping bring a higher level of play to Delaware middle and high school communities by offering training that is open to the public with high level guest clinicians, including National Team players and college coaches.
